"Are you not entertained?" - Landon

 

After Maximus defeats a group of well trained soldiers in the arena with ease, he screams to the crowd, "Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?". The crowd replies with a roaring applause. In this moment Maximus realizes the power that he holds within the arena; the crowd gives him influence. There is also a Spartacus reference moments before when Maximus throws the sword into the crowd. In Spartacus, when Draba threw the trident it represented a similar turning point in the character's progression which led to the eventual revolt.
